What do you think of when you hear “Malaysian Food”?
Satay and curry used to come to mind immediately, and….that was it. I didn’t know the different types of cuisine – all from the diverse culture of Malaysia – or the different types of dishes. I remember googling “must-try dish in Malaysia” and Laksa was the winner.
I tried Laksa twice during our three week stay in Malaysia (Sabah included) and was so happy with my first try that the second didn’t own up to it. I’ll definitely have to try some more to be an expert.
Here is a gallery of the many dishes we got to try and re-discover. Aside from Laksa, we LOVED the Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball in Melaka and the dim sum of Georgetown.
Seafood noodle soup with vegetables (Georgetown, Malaysia)
Melaka week-end’s street food fair: Radish Cake (Melaka Malaysia)
Famosa Chicken RIce Ball Restaurant: We tried it before going to Chop Chung Wah, needless to say – there’s a reason why their line is so long (Melaka, Malaysia)
